Drop and Count Clerk
Job Description
Manage secure currency drop and counting across gaming equipment while maintaining documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Open, remove, and secure currency from slot machines and table games
- Follow all Drop/Count policies and procedures
- Count slot machine currency drops and tickets accurately
- Operate electronic currency counter/sorter and New Wave ticket counter equipment
- Record currency from each bill acceptor and table game box using the electronic currency counter
- Separate slot tickets from currency from gaming machines
- Prepare, sort, and bundle currency drop for verification
- Perform chip count for the Poker Room
- Create and prepare count reports and enter information into a computerized online accounting system
- Notify supervisors of any discrepancies or variances
- Complete Drop/Count during the regular shift
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the work area
- Maintain confidentiality of all information
- Contribute to team effort and complete related duties as assigned
- Support safety and security for guests and employees
- Complete other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, hear, and speak clearly; handle and count money accurately
- Ability to accurately enter information into computer systems and use a printer
- Ability to write basic documents
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions and memos
- Ability to distinguish between colors
- Ability to use a 10 key calculator
- Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license
