Guest Services Agent
Job Description
At Hotel Abri, located in San Francisco, CA (onsite), the Guest Services Agent supports day-to-day operations by verifying daily transaction figures and accounting records, then ensuring reporting and reconciliation are completed accurately. The role also supports front desk and Food and Beverage cashier close-out work, including electronically transmitting credit card vouchers and running required daily accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain full knowledge of and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
- Use and follow established procedures for the property management system and manual workflows.
- Set up and organize the work station with designated supplies, forms, and resource materials while keeping the area clean; report shortages to the supervisor.
- Answer the telephone within three rings using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
- Provide accurate guest information by staying familiar with hotel services, facilities, packages, promotions, prices, and rates to support positive guest relations.
- Operate with a working knowledge of PMS, POS, call accounting, and movie systems; correct errors and list discrepancies for adjustment.
- Compute percentages and totals, then compare results with recorded entries; inspect books of original entry to confirm accepted accounting procedures were followed.
- Analyze data to identify evidence of deficiencies in controls or lack of compliance with management policies and procedures.
- Reconcile and complete daily front desk and Food and Beverage cashier work.
- Run final trial balance to post rooms and close the day.
- Run accounts receivable reports and other designated reports for record keeping as directed by the Controller.
- Provide next day reports for Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales, and Accounting Offices as required.
- Transmit credit card vouchers electronically via modem to authorized vendors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree, Accounting major preferred).
- Ability to communicate in English with guests, visitors, vendors, and hotel staff.
- Ability to provide legible communication.
- Must be able to compute mathematical calculations.
- Certification of previous training in computers.
- Experience with computers, calculators, or word processors.
- Ability to input and access information into the property management and sale systems.
- Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to remain stationary at the assigned post for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work cohesively with other departments and coworkers as part of a team.

Compensation & Benefits
Pay range: $20.00–$25.00 per hour. Pay rate: $21/hr.
