Hotel Houze Detroit Downtown is seeking dependable, hardworking, detail-oriented Hotel Housekeepers / Room Attendants to support full-time and part-time housekeeping needs on site in Detroit, MI.

Role Overview

You will clean and prepare guest rooms to hotel standards, ensuring rooms are fully cleaned and ready for guests. The role includes completing assigned rooms within established productivity expectations while maintaining consistent quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean checkout, vacant, and stayover guest rooms
• Make beds with clean linens and ensure bedding is stain-free and properly presented
• Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms, including showers, toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures
• Clean kitchens, including countertops, sinks, appliances, dishes, and other kitchen areas
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
• Dust furniture, fixtures, vents, ledges, baseboards, and other surfaces
• Clean mirrors, windows, glass, and high-touch surfaces
• Check furniture, sofa beds, closets, drawers, and other areas for cleanliness
• Remove trash and replace liners
• Restock towels, toiletries, and guest supplies
• Verify expected room items are present before completing each room
• Report damaged furniture, plumbing issues, HVAC concerns, missing items, stains, or other maintenance problems immediately
• Keep housekeeping carts, closets, laundry areas, and workspaces clean and organized
• Follow hotel safety, security, lost-and-found, and housekeeping procedures
• Assist with deep cleaning and other housekeeping projects when needed

Schedule

Hotel housekeeping operates based on occupancy and guest needs. A flexible schedule is required, including weekends and holidays when necessary.

• Previous hotel housekeeping experience is strongly preferred; strong professional cleaning experience and the right work ethic may be considered
• Reliable attendance
• Remain on your feet for extended periods
• Bend, reach, kneel, push, and pull throughout the shift
• Push and maneuver a housekeeping cart
• Lift and carry housekeeping supplies, linens, and other required items
• Perform repetitive cleaning tasks safely throughout the workday

Compensation

USD 17 per hourly

Our Quality Standards

• A room is not finished simply because the bed is made and the trash is gone
• Before marking a room complete, you should be comfortable viewing it from the perspective of the guest entering the room
• Check details that may affect first impressions, including hair, dust, stains, fingerprints, dirty dishes, bathroom residue, floors, vents, bedding, furniture, and appliances
• If something is wrong, address it or report it
• Rooms are subject to inspection, and employees are expected to correct any deficiencies identified by housekeeping leadership
