Job Description
As a Lounge Server at El Encanto in Santa Barbara, CA, you will deliver a warm, composed, and highly personalized guest experience. The role emphasizes confident menu guidance, precise ordering, polished wine and beverage service, and maintaining a clean, guest-ready lounge setting from greet to final sendoff.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly within one minute of being seated.
- Guide guests through food and beverage menus with confidence and clarity.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, personalized service while maintaining a calm, gracious, and professional demeanor.
- Handle guest concerns with empathy, urgency, and professionalism.
- Provide a warm, sincere sendoff that reflects genuine care.
- Follow all El Encanto service standards from the initial greet through check drop.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring all modifications and allergies are captured correctly.
- Enter orders into the POS system accurately, using proper position numbers.
- Manage coursing, pacing, and communication with the kitchen and bar.
- Perform two-sip and two-bite checks to support guest satisfaction.
- Maintain clear, continuous communication with server assistants and managers.
- Present and describe wine, cocktails, and beverage offerings confidently.
- Open and present wine at the table when appropriate, and pour and maintain beverages according to service standards.
- Monitor bar timing and communicate delays to management when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready section at all times.
- Clear, mark, and reset tables between courses with discretion.
- Monitor glassware, silverware, and overall table cleanliness throughout the meal.
- Coordinate with server assistants to ensure seamless execution.
- Treat each table as a curated, personalized experience.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with managers and teammates.
- Participate in the daily lineup and pre-shift briefings, and support teammates during busy periods.
- Follow all operational and property-wide service standards, using elevated and guest-focused language.
- Maintain strong eye contact, positive body language, and a genuine smile, demonstrating anticipatory service and emotional intelligence.
- Practice inclusive, respectful, and accessible hospitality.
- Uphold all LQA and property service standards at all times.
Requirements
- Previous serving experience in a restaurant, lounge, or hotel environment preferred.
- Strong food, wine, and cocktail knowledge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced setting.
- Commitment to luxury hospitality standards.
- Must meet all legal requirements for serving alcohol.
