Overnight Hotel Supervisor
Job Description
Based at the Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center in College Station, Pyramid Global Hospitality seeks an Overnight Hotel Supervisor to shepherd overnight operations, guest safety, and the Night Audit process. This full-time position runs from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM and offers an hourly rate in the $18.00 to $19.00 range. It requires a seasoned leader with substantial front desk or night audit experience to maintain service quality through the overnight hours.
Compensation
- Salary: USD 18.00 – 19.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Provide primary on-site leadership during overnight hours, making operational and guest-related decisions as needed
- Supervise the on-duty Night Auditor and oversee the night audit process, with a full understanding of Night Audit and Front Desk Supervisor operations and systems
- Maintain an active, visible presence at the front desk and lobby to monitor guest activity and service flow; camera systems are supplementary, not the primary monitoring method
- Identify and address operational issues, discrepancies, or risks proactively before escalation
- Handle guest concerns and service recovery with professionalism and discretion
- Document guest issues, resolutions, and follow-up needs in pass-downs or via email as required
- Monitor guest activity to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and employees
- Oversee the gift shop area to ensure proper coverage
- Ensure proper handling of cash, credit cards, deposits, folios, and sensitive guest information
- Conduct routine security walks of the property, including guest floors, back-of-house areas, stairwells, entrances, and exits
- Respond to safety concerns, emergencies, alarms, disturbances, or suspicious activity while enforcing hotel policies on noise, loitering, access control, and guest conduct
- Prepare detailed incident reports for any safety, security, or operational events
- Complete a light lobby round with a Night Auditor when applicable
- Walk guest floors and back-of-house landings (floors 3–8) and address glassware, trash, or dirty linen as needed
- Assist with laundry as required
- Complete scheduled Engineering floor cleaning projects
- Identify maintenance or cleanliness issues and ensure they are addressed or noted in pass-downs; respond to basic maintenance requests within training scope
- Log maintenance issues using PurpleCloud
- Ensure temporary fixes are safe, documented, and communicated for follow-up
- Possess a strong working knowledge of Night Audit functions and procedures; provide coverage for Night Audit during call-out situations and low-occupancy periods; may be scheduled as Night Audit during low occupancy while maintaining Night Supervisor pay
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overnight operations, guest satisfaction, safety, or business continuity
- Maintain detailed shift logs capturing operational notes, incidents, guest issues, and staffing concerns
- Communicate effectively with morning leadership and department heads via written or verbal handoff
- Escalate critical issues appropriately while exercising independent judgment
- Ensure team members on shift follow procedures and expectations
- Model professional behavior, appearance, and communication at all times
- Maintain strict confidentiality of guest, employee, and business information
Requirements
- 5+ years of prior hotel front desk, night audit, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand, walk, and conduct property inspections for extended periods
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies
