Public Space Attendant
Job Description
Join el PRADO Hotel as a Public Space Attendant on a part-time, on-site basis in Palo Alto, CA. You will clean and maintain designated public areas to hotel standards, including furniture, surfaces, and guest spaces. The role offers an hourly wage of $23-$25 per hour.

Responsibilities
- Know hotel services and local attractions to answer guest questions accurately
- Resolve guest concerns to ensure satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in assigned areas
- Safeguard keys, radios, and beepers issued for the role
- Review and update your assignment sheet as work is completed
- Coordinate with Supervisor and Housekeeping office for additional tasks during the shift
- Remove trash and debris from the assigned area
- Stock cleaning carts with designated supplies and equipment
- Keep closets clean and organized; wipe shelves, sweep and wax floors, and store items properly
- Clean designated areas using appropriate chemicals, tools and equipment
- Ensure stairwells remain unobstructed and free of stored items
- Transport food and beverage trays from public areas to service areas
- Check under furniture for debris and reposition to the correct floor plan
- Inspect furniture for tears or stains and report damages
- Dust and polish wood surfaces
- Clean upholstered furniture, including crevices and beneath cushions
- Dust pictures, frames, mirrors, fire extinguisher boxes, exit signs, and vents
- Clean lamps, light fixtures, and switches; verify proper operation
- Remove dust and spots from windows and wash as assigned
- Clean and reposition house and public phones; replace damaged phone books
- Dust drapes weekly and realign daily
- Inspect plants and planters, remove debris, and polish
- Wipe doors and door frames; remove marks and fingerprints
- Clean baseboards, ledges, and corners; remove dust and stains
- Polish brass surfaces; empty trash containers, ashtrays, and urns
- Remove debris from balconies and patios
- Empty vacuum bags, maintain machines, and clean public and employee bathroom fixtures thoroughly
- Restock tissues, towels, and soaps in correct locations
- Sweep the front entrance daily
- Clean public area windows and ceiling vents
- Shampoo carpets and strip and wax floors as required
- Maintain daily cleanliness of the fitness center
- Sweep and rinse the pool deck daily when applicable
- Remove soiled towels from pool areas and return them to Laundry when applicable
- Report damages or maintenance issues to the Supervisor
- Turn over lost and found items to the Supervisor
- Protect hotel property and ensure floor care equipment is cleaned after use
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
- No prior experience required
- Good understanding of English
- Previous customer service experience is a plus
