Room Attendant

Hotel Maverick is hiring a Part-Time Room Attendant for onsite work in Grand Junction, CO. This role helps keep guest rooms and shared areas fresh, clean, and ready for the day, with an hourly rate of $16. What you’ll do

• Clean, dust, wax, scrub, polish, and service guest rooms daily according to hotel procedures.
• Stock the cart with guest room supplies at the beginning of your shift and restock the cart and organize the linen closet at the end of your shift.
• Replace linens, replenish guest room supplies, and ensure each room stays in the uniform arrangement set by the Executive Housekeeper, including keeping the door closed and the room locked.
• Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays.
• Rearrange furnishings, drapes, and room accessories as needed to maintain room readiness and appearance.
• Provide necessary linen and amenities to guests based on the guest room legend.
• Clean corridors and service areas to maintain overall hotel cleanliness.
• Greet guests with a Good Morning (or afternoon/evening as appropriate).
• Replace light bulbs when necessary.
• Respond to projects or requests from the Housekeeping management team.
• Report damage, hazards, repairs, and strangers in assigned areas.
• Handle found items by returning them to Housekeeping as a lost and found submission, including the date, where it was found, description of the item, and the name of the person who found it.
• Maintain responsibility for all keys signed out for the shift.
• Complete other housekeeping duties as assigned.

What you bring

• Less than high school education; or up to six months of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to follow detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems in situations.
• Must be able to speak English to communicate with guests.
• Ability to recognize situations that may involve guests requiring immediate supervisory attention.
• Knowledge of and ability to use reasonable care for guest safety and security.

Schedule and role details

This is a part-time position based at 840 Kennedy Ave, Grand Junction, CO 81501 (onsite). The role includes regular standing and walking, occasional climbing or balancing, and lifting up to 25-30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently.
