Job Description

Contract Utility Engineer position at Stanford Court Hotel, onsite in San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, primarily address guest bathroom caulking and grout needs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms within the Utility program as assigned.
  • Execute and maintain work in compliance with local, state, and federal codes as instructed.
  • Schedule is Monday through Friday, supervised by the Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or one year of related hotel or industry experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a hotel, building, hospital, or dormitory setting.
  • Professional caulking and grouting experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Flexibility for long hours when needed; schedule is a Monday through Friday morning shift.
  • Occasional heavy lifting may be required, including exerting up to 100+ pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.

  • Comply with Highgate Hotel standards and safety regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and contribute to solutions.
  • Effectively handle problems by anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving them as needed.
  • Understand and apply complex information from multiple sources to meet objectives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Show initiative by anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management beyond the initial project scope.
  • 89 day project engineer assignment focusing on hotel bathrooms with emphasis on caulking and grouting.
