Banquet Setup

The Portofino Hotel & Marina, a Noble House Hotel is seeking an On-Call Banquet Setup team member for our Redondo Beach, CA property. This role supports memorable guest experiences by ensuring banquet meeting rooms are prepared correctly and kept clean and organized before, during, and after each event. The hourly pay is USD 16.00.

What you will do

You will report to the Director of Banquets and help deliver an excellent banquet experience for every guest. Your work focuses on setting up and breaking down meeting spaces in line with the established event planning materials, including the “Banquet Order” and related diagrams.

• Set up and breakdown banquet meeting spaces per Banquet Event Order instructions.
• Prepare tables and table complements such as salt, pepper, sugar, breadsticks, and other requested items.
• Arrange table linens, table settings, centerpieces, and required dishes.
• Set up audio-visual equipment and all other event provisions as specified.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of banquet spaces before, during, and after events.
• Maintain communication with the guest contact person to address guest needs and provide strong customer service.
• Observe Health Department guidelines for food handling and sanitation.
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.

Banquet setup and equipment care

The Banquet Setup team is primarily responsible for preparing banquet meeting rooms according to the “Banquet Order” and diagram specifications. In addition to event-ready setup, you will help maintain the cleanliness and condition of meeting rooms, storage areas, and banquet equipment, including tables, chairs, risers, transport carts, easels, and other banquet tools.

Requirements

• Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend and squat repeatedly.
• Ability to walk and stand for the duration of a scheduled shift.
