Compensation: USD 21 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Model integrity, honesty and brand values to support the culture and mission of Starbucks.
  • Maintain composure during peak periods or unusual events to uphold standards and set a positive example for the shift team.
  • Anticipate guest and store needs by monitoring the environment and cues from customers.
  • Relay information to the manager so the team can respond and maintain the Third Place atmosphere on each shift.
  • Support new partner training with constructive coaching and feedback; provide performance insights to the store manager.
  • Identify changes in partner morale or performance and communicate them to the store manager to sustain a positive team environment.
  • Foster a positive learning environment through clear, timely, and respectful coaching on shift to drive operational excellence.
  • Deliver consistent, customer-first service by engaging with guests and addressing their needs.
  • Build positive relationships with the shift team by understanding individual motivation and concerns.
  • Oversee store operations during scheduled shifts and organize opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to Starbucks operating policies and procedures, including cash handling and safety and security measures, to protect the team during each shift.
  • Follow cash management policies and ensure the shift team maintains proper cash handling practices.
  • Monitor baristas during the shift to ensure delivery of high-quality customer service for all guests.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a Starbucks Store or related field; or a 4-year college degree with at least 3 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree with 4 or more years of related experience.
  • Proficient in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, and liquor laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work long hours as needed.
  • Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, push, pull or move objects.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with all levels of staff and guests in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Skilled in listening to and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Capability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a courteous and service-oriented approach in all interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Participate in Manager on Duty coverage as required.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards and scheduling needs.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and grooming standards, including wearing nametags.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient operations.
  • Stay productive by identifying problem areas and contributing to solutions.
  • Effectively handle problems by anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving issues as they arise.
  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex information from multiple sources to meet objectives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
