Job Description
At Cambria Hotel Mt. Pleasant in Mount Pleasant, SC, the Front Desk Agent plays a key role at the heart of guest service. This onsite position focuses on welcoming guests, managing reservations and check-ins, and keeping front desk operations running accurately and smoothly throughout each shift.
The ideal candidate brings a customer-first mindset, handles phone and in-person inquiries promptly, and coordinates with other departments to resolve concerns efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain outstanding customer service and a friendly, professional, cheerful, and courteous demeanor
- Answer questions from potential guests and accept hotel reservations accurately
- Handle phone and in-person inquiries for reservations, hotel information, and guest concerns in a timely manner
- Resolve guest problems and complaints efficiently, demonstrating a sense of urgency to support customer satisfaction
- Use suggestive selling to sell room nights and help increase occupancy and revenue
- Allocate rooms for expected arrivals based on guest preferences and any special requests
- Coordinate with other departments (such as housekeeping and maintenance) and build strong working relationships
- Ensure phone calls, wake up calls, and guest messages are handled promptly, efficiently, and professionally
- Cross-check billing instructions to confirm they are correctly updated
- Manage group arrivals by pre-registering each guest
- Ensure payments are made or on file for each guest, and route billing appropriately for groups
- Complete cash transactions and maintain full responsibility for the personal bank
- Read and update the front desk log in the book or system
- Follow guest check-in and security procedures and report suspicious activity to security, a manager, or the MOD
- Assist other departments in servicing guests during high volume periods
- Attend meetings as required
Requirements
- Experience in customer service, forward-facing, or guest-related roles
- Hospitality industry experience in hotels, restaurants, or similar roles preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 or similar computer applications
- Minimum: high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Schedule
- Full Time (40 hours per week)
- Shift times vary, including 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and/or a mid-shift between those hours (7am-11pm)
Pay
$17.50 - $19.00 per hour (USD 17 - 19 per hourly)
