Hotel Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description
Marriott Hotel - Mobile seeks a hands-on maintenance supervisor onsite in Mobile, Alabama. This role centers on managing the upkeep of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and other building systems while guiding the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team to meet property goals and deliver reliable service to guests and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Plan and organize daily maintenance tasks to keep operations running smoothly.
- Manage and sustain a preventive maintenance program to support ongoing, day-to-day activities.
- Adhere to company safety and security policies; promptly report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
- Proactively identify operational concerns and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- Apply problem-solving techniques and understand common causes of equipment malfunctions.
- Estimate costs and time required to complete each job.
- Oversee, motivate, and train team members to perform at their best.
- Welcome guests and maintain a clean, professional appearance of uniforms and personal grooming.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a maintenance supervisor.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems.
- Ability to lead the team in an effective, positive, and efficient manner.
- Understanding and adherence to OSHA guidelines and other regulations.
- Skills in the use of fire equipment and readiness to assist in fire drills and Life Safety Programs.
- Demonstrates problem-solving and team-building abilities.
- Ability to understand, read, write, and speak basic English; communicate with team members and guests.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and holidays.

Physical Demands
- Regular standing; frequent use of hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reaching with arms; and occasional bending or kneeling.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds;
- Ability to push carts weighing up to 200 pounds;
- Must have close, distance, and color vision as required for job tasks;
- Able to work in mentally and physically stressful situations and handle working with cleaning chemicals.
Work Environment
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Moderate noise level typical of a hotel maintenance setting.
- Ability to work in small, confined areas for extended periods and in high-stress environments.
- May be required to work outdoors as needed.
