Housekeeping Inspector
Job Description
The Housekeeping Inspector oversees, coaches, and checks housekeeping team performance to keep procedures aligned with hotel standards and to support strong guest service.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and inspect assigned Guest Room Attendants and Floor Housepersons to confirm all procedures meet hotel standards.
- Support day-to-day coverage as needed to help deliver optimum guest service.
- Maintain availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
- Ensure compliance and completion of all daily operational procedures within the Housekeeping Department.
- Follow and reinforce Shaner Hotels, franchise, and hotel/departmental policies and procedures, keeping the housekeeping team informed.
- Handle guest complaints with the goal of ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Train and develop team members, ensuring all required training is completed according to standards.
- Review daily business levels, anticipate critical situations, and plan effective solutions to expedite needs.
- Assist staff with job functions to maintain optimum guest service.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in assigned areas.
- Perform housekeeping, laundry, and houseperson tasks when necessary.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Guest Room Attendant.
- Ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly in English with guests/visitors, management, and coworkers, both in person and by telephone.
- Ability to provide legible communication and directions.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling.
