Job Description

As the Housekeeping Supervisor at the Sheraton Duluth Hotel, you will oversee the cleanliness operations for guest rooms, public spaces, and exterior areas, working closely with the Housekeeping Manager to uphold spotless standards and guest satisfaction. This onsite leadership role combines hands-on supervision with staff development, scheduling, and quality control to ensure every area reflects the hotel's commitment to excellence.

Salary: USD 19 - 20 per hour

Education: High School or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Housekeeping Manager to hire, develop, supervise, and assess staff performance, offering disciplinary recommendations when necessary.
  • Oversees stock and operation of commercial laundry supplies and equipment to ensure availability and proper functioning.
  • Supports training initiatives, ensuring team members have the tools and equipment needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • assists with scheduling and assigns room cleaning tasks to guarantee adequate coverage.
  • May execute all standard housekeeping duties, including guest rooms and public spaces, to meet guest and owner expectations.
  • Partners with the Housekeeping Manager to conduct inventories and maintain par levels for linens and room supplies.
  • Inspects assigned guest rooms and public areas to verify cleanliness and condition of furnishings, equipment, linens, and spaces to meet guest standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent education is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years in housekeeping with at least 6 months in a supervisory or management role within housekeeping.
  • Reading and writing abilities are necessary to document tasks, order supplies, follow daily instructions, and read equipment manuals including safety information.
  • Effective communication skills in a multilingual workplace.
  • Neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
  • Interest in the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates.
  • Schedule may vary based on the hotel's needs.
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety laws is required.

Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to quickly reach different hotel departments as needed.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Push and pull carts and equipment up to 200 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent kneeling, squatting, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and visual acuity; manual dexterity to operate equipment.

Additional Screening Requirements

  • Must successfully pass criminal background screening for the position.
