Housekeeping Supervisor

Hilton Garden Inn Hotel is seeking a full-time Housekeeping Supervisor to support the housekeeping department in Oconomowoc, WI. In this onsite role, you will help inspect rooms on the days the housekeeping manager is off, while also performing essential cleaning, laundry, and room readiness tasks throughout the rest of the week.

Role Overview

On the two days the housekeeping manager is off, this position supports the team by inspecting rooms. During the remaining three days, the role focuses on cleaning rooms, assisting with laundry, and completing other cleaning projects. The schedule includes flexibility for weekends and holidays, with half to most weekends recommended, while coordination with the current housekeeping manager helps minimize working all holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Aid the housekeeping department and inspect rooms on the 2 days the housekeeping manager is off
• Clean guest rooms and complete cleaning projects as assigned
• Dust and polish furniture and fittings
• Empty and clean trash containers, disposing of trash in a sanitary manner
• Clean sinks, mirrors, tubs, toilets, and showers; wipe down glass surfaces
• Make up beds and change dirty linens with clean items; tidy up rooms
• Restock room supplies including drinking glasses, soaps, shampoos, and writing supplies
• Inspect and turn mattresses regularly
• Monitor guest laundry bags, replacing bags and slips as needed
• Check that all in-room appliances are in working order
• Realign furniture and amenities according to the prescribed layout
• Wash windows as scheduled
• Clean metal fixtures and fittings
• Store dirty laundry in line with company policy
• Organize the work schedule using the room status list, arrivals, and departures
• Distribute linen, towels, and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand
• Respond to guest queries, requests, and calls for housekeeping problems such as spills or broken glasses
• Deliver requested housekeeping items to guest rooms
• Organize and restock the cart at the end of the shift
• Ensure confidentiality and security of guest rooms
• Follow all company safety and security procedures
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, hotel property damage, and necessary domestic repairs and replacements

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods
• Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials
• Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment
• Physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to reach, kneel, and bend
• Ability to lift, push, and pull required loads (usually about 30 lbs)
• Housekeeping or cleaning experience recommended
• Attention to detail
• Customer focus, reliability, and listening skills
• Adaptability, planning and organizing, and team work
• Integrity and honesty; high energy levels

Compensation and Schedule

• $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
• Full-time
• In person work location at the hotel in Oconomowoc, WI
