Job Description

Hotel Zena offers an onsite Housekeeping Supervisor role in Washington, DC with an hourly rate of USD 25 - 27. This position coordinates housekeeping operations on assigned sections and steps in to cover Housekeeping Manager functions when needed, supporting smooth daily service and guest satisfaction.

What you’ll do

  • Inspect Room Attendant performance daily within the assigned section to confirm hotel standards and productivity levels are met and maintained.
  • In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Housekeeping Manager, inspect all VIP rooms and report availability to the Front Office according to hotel standards.
  • Oversee end-of-day floor closing, including confirming Room Attendants’ carts are clean and restocked.
  • Ensure daily assignment records are completed, signed off, and delivered to the Housekeeping Office on time.
  • Maintain key control and handle items for Lost and Found in line with established standards.
  • Monitor cleanliness and orderliness of Room Attendants’ carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings.
  • Oversee the daily assignment of duties so Room Attendants and House Attendants have active work assignments.
  • Carry an active pager/radio to stay in contact with the Front Office and/or Engineering throughout the shift.
  • Report progress of all out-of-order rooms under Housekeeping Department supervision to the Guest Services Manager per standards.
  • Initiate work orders for repairs and maintenance, forward them to Engineering, and follow through until completion.
  • Assist with training of Housekeeping staff.
  • May be required to clean rooms based on business needs.
  • Ensure completion of cleaning projects on a biannual basis.
  • Support overall guest satisfaction through consistent, organized service.

What we’re looking for

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. College course work in a related field is helpful.
  • 2+ years of experience required; two to three years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory responsibility is preferred.
  • Ability to stand during the entire shift.
  • Effective communication skills in both verbal and written form with employees and guests, in an attentive, friendly, courteous, service-oriented manner.
