Houseperson (On Call)
Job Description
Hotel Bel-Air is seeking a temporary On Call/Seasonal Houseperson to support events within Food & Beverage - Banquets at our Los Angeles property. In this contract role, you will help ensure banquet spaces are prepared, presented, and refreshed to match luxury expectations for every guest experience.
Based onsite at 701 Stone Canyon Road, Los Angeles, CA 90077, this position supports day-to-day event readiness through setup, breakdown, and supply preparation, with a focus on cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail.
What you’ll do
- Set up and take down the event space during the day.
- Read the BEO to follow the specified layout of tables, chairs, and props.
- Maintain cleanliness and ensure banquet function space remains in good condition according to programs and plans.
- Stock linen, China, silver, and other supplies in preparation for each event.
- Support banquet requests carried out by the Banquet House person, including event layouts and required props.
- Report issues and work with several other positions to correct imperfections and blemishes that may appear.
What you’ll need
- Attention to detail is critical for this role.
- Preferred ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, B.E.O operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk and stand for multiple hours per shift.
- English is the primary language used at the hotel, and you can communicate comfortably in English.
- Strong communication skills and a customer service ethic.
Schedule and physical requirements
- Work varying schedules based on business and hotel demands, including weekends and holidays.
- Employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to walk and stand for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, and use hand, finger, and wrist dexterity.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay and benefits
- Compensation: $26.07 per hour (USD 26 per hourly listed).
