Night Audit

What you’ll be responsible for

During night hours, the Night Audit team member ensures the property’s financial accuracy and system readiness. You will balance and audit key revenue streams, complete required reporting, and serve as a hands-on point of contact for hotel systems while also handling guest service duties as needed.

• Balance and audit room revenue, cashier’s reports, guest and house accounts, and telephone revenue, assisting with preparation of daily revenue reports
• Transmit credit card batches
• Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports along with supporting documents
• Act as hotel system liaison during night hours
• Perform required Guest Service Representative functions, including booking room reservations, answering hotel phone calls, and notifying guests of messages
• Address guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner
• Make responsible judgment calls on guest issues during the overnight shift
• Make corrections and adjustments, handle computer problems during the shift, and use strong troubleshooting skills
• Answer routine questions from co-workers
• Lead completion of daily departmental or work unit tasks
• Interact with others when necessary to achieve desired outcomes
• Maintain complete confidentiality of all company information
• Follow all cleaning, sanitation, and PPE guidelines position-specific to the role
• Perform other duties as assigned by department and/or company management

What you’ll need

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Microsoft applications proficiency
• Read and write in English with good verbal communication skills
• Basic math skills including adding, subtracting, fractions, decimals, and percentages
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Six months related experience and/or training is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations
• Ability to read and interpret documents in English (including safety rules and procedure manuals), communicate verbally in English, and complete written communication as required
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions and handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Day-to-day working conditions

• Mostly works inside the building
• Regular exposure to airborne particles, toxic fumes and/or chemicals
• Loud noise environment and bright lighting
• Exposure to unrestricted second-hand smoke
• Physical demands include standing, using hands to handle controls, reaching, talking or hearing, and lifting/pushing/pulling/moving up to 25 pounds
• Vision requirements include close, color, and peripheral vision
• May require pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, stacking, crouching, kneeling, and balancing in varying work areas, including confined spaces
