Prep Cook

Great kitchen support role with onsite work in Billings, MT. This Prep Cook position at The Billings Hotel and Convention Center helps keep food service running smoothly by preparing ingredients and meals in line with recipes and menu plans. You’ll contribute to consistent, safe, and timely service while working closely with the kitchen team throughout each shift.

What you’ll do

• Wash, peel, slice, and portion ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
• Prepare meals according to recipes, menu plans, and dietary requirements.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely while following food handling and production safety standards.
• Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout the shift.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff and support serving or catering needs as assigned.

What you bring

• Food preparation and meal preparation skills, including cooking familiarity and strong recipe adherence.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and food safety management procedures.
• Kitchen experience is required, with food service, restaurant, catering, culinary, or food industry experience helpful.
• Dietary department or dietary aide experience and familiarity with menu planning are preferred.
• Clear communication, reliable teamwork, and the ability to maintain an organized, clean workspace.
