Server Assistant

Responsibilities

• Ensure tables are cleaned and set in a timely manner to effectively serve our guests
• Maintain table settings by removing finished courses
• Clear and organize dirty dishes, glasses, and silverware
• Keep a clean and sanitary bussing station
• Complete all restocking and cleaning duties as instructed
• Memorize menu items, recipes, and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations
• Maintain cleanliness standards in the restaurant, wait station, and kitchen service area to present a clean, presentable facility and meet health board requirements
• Attend all pre meal and departmental meetings in person to enhance communications and knowledge of products, service, and facility
• Respond to customer inquiries and comments in person and by phone with timely and knowledgeable information to provide quality customer service
• Present a clean and professional appearance at all times
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor always
• Use tact and understanding when addressing a variety of customer service issues, including stressful and highly emotional situations
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience
• Three to six months experience in a food and beverage services environment or establishment
• Must have vision to clearly see detailed guest checks, computer printouts, written instructions, and observe the entire restaurant in dim lighting
• Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items, and balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages
• Ability to communicate information about hotel services to management, staff, and guests
