Job Description
Argosy Casino Hotel & Spa Riverside offers a sportsbook role in Riverside, MO (onsite) with day-one medical coverage, 401(k) matching, and wellness programs designed to support your financial, physical, and mental well-being. Starting pay: $16 per hour.
What you’ll do
As a Sportsbook Representative, you will handle key sportsbook operations while keeping guest service and regulatory compliance at the center of your shift.
- Write, verify, and process sports wager tickets, ensuring accuracy and adherence to department policy and procedures and applicable jurisdictional gaming statutes and regulations.
- Maintain a cash bank for your shift, accepting payments and making correct change when needed.
- Make payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner by verifying tickets and payoffs.
- Maintain and reconcile your bank throughout the shift according to established cash-handling policies and procedures.
- Keep sportsbook stations stocked with adequate supplies and maintain a neat, clean station.
- Explain wagering rules to guests, including betting lines and odds, plus applicable procedures.
- Support required compliance practices, including currency transaction requirements, Title 31, and Suspicious Activity Reporting for Casinos (SAR).
- Create and enter player tracking cards.
- Provide friendly, courteous information and assistance to customers, including directing guests for additional information as necessary.
- Notify management of escalated or prevalent guest issues and any apparent suspicious activity.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested, while maintaining strict confidentiality regarding departmental and company matters.
What you bring
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Minimum 6 months of cash-handling experience.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a high-stress and high-volume environment.
- Ability to work in and adapt to a dynamic, frequently changing environment.
- Ability to follow and execute established department policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of sports, proficient cash-handling skills, and strong basic math skills to calculate winnings based on odds.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to stay professional, neat, and well-groomed according to department and company standards.
- Ability to work under pressure while paying close attention to details.
Language, reasoning, and licensing
- Ability to read and interpret English documents (such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals).
- Ability to read and communicate verbally in English, with written communication skills in English as needed.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
Physical demands and work environment
- Regular standing; frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequent reaching with hands and arms; ability to talk or hear.
- Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with additional ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance across varying work areas.
- Noise level is usually moderate, and you may be exposed to an environment containing unrestricted secondhand tobacco smoke.
