Area Event Planning Manager
Job Description
On-site in Houston, TX, Hotel Saint Augustine, Bunkhouse Hotels seeks a proactive Area Event Planning Manager to oversee event documentation and coordinate with sales, hotel departments and clients to deliver consistent, high-level service across pre-event, event, and post-event phases, while serving as the liaison between meeting planners and hotel staff to maximize revenue through up-selling and enhancements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive event documentation for each property event.
- Collaborate with sales teams, hotel departments and clients to ensure seamless, high-quality service from pre-event planning through post-event follow-up.
- Act as the primary liaison between meeting planners and hotel staff.
- Detail all food, beverage and audio-visual requirements.
- Oversee room blocks and attendee pickup logistics.
- Manage billing instructions and conduct final review.
- Identify opportunities to maximize revenue through up-selling and event enhancements to elevate outcomes.
Requirements
- Genuine desire to meet the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 2 years in hotel event sales, event planning, or a comparable role is preferred.
- Proficient with general computer systems and software.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Completion of an Event Management trainee program is preferred.
- Prior completion of PSS or an equivalent training program is preferred.
