Assistant Housekeeping Manager

Hotel La Croix in Honolulu invites a detail‑oriented Assistant Housekeeping Manager to lead our housekeeping operations, budgeting, staffing, safety, and cross‑department coordination. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping the guest experience as the property undergoes redevelopment toward becoming a premier destination boutique hotel in Waikiki, with a focus on delivering courteous service and efficient operation.

Responsibilities

• Oversees short and long term planning for the hotel's housekeeping operations.
• Develops and recommends the budget and labor cost plans, managing within approved parameters.
• Maintains a solid understanding of housekeeping and laundry supplies and par levels.
• Instructs staff on greeting guests and courteously addressing guest requests.
• Ensures the inspection program is consistently implemented.
• Ensures safety and security policies and procedures are followed.
• Collaborates closely with all other departments.
• Performs daily room inspections.
• Brings experience in purchasing linens and housekeeping supplies.
• Keeps up to date with the latest housekeeping and laundry technology.
• Partners with vendors to secure proper pricing, timely delivery, and maintenance.
• Trains, supervises, and mentors multilingual and multicultural staff.
• Ensures OSHA and ADA policies are adhered to.
• Experience with turndown service and handling special needs of VIP guests or foreign dignitaries is helpful.
• Maintains appropriate staffing levels to meet customer service goals.
• Coaches and counsels employees to reflect service standards and procedures.
• Demonstrates the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

• Four years or more of progressive hotel management experience.
• Pre-opening hotel experience is preferred.
• Service‑oriented style with professional presentation skills.
• Hotel/Hospitality degree is an asset.
• Strong attributes: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, effective communication, and ability to improve the bottom line through exceptional customer service.
• Clear, concise written and verbal English communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
