Banquet Setup

Join the team at Hotel Equities Group, LLC in Harrisburg, PA as part of the Banquet Setup crew supporting ballroom readiness and meeting room service. This onsite role focuses on placement, setup, upkeep, and breakdown of physical sets in line with Hilton standards for the Hilton Harrisburg.

Role Summary

You will participate in the placement, service, maintenance, and breakdown of physical sets in the ballroom and associated areas. Duties include supplying and replenishing meeting rooms, coordinating with team members to support meeting needs, and maintaining established cleaning schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and fresh water.
• Break down all meeting rooms after meetings conclude and return items to the storage closet so rooms are available for the next function.
• Set up and service functions as assigned, including considerable physical activity transporting and moving awkward or heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, and dance floors from storage to meeting rooms.
• Communicate with managers, directors, and fellow team members to deliver all function specifications.
• Maintain the established cleaning schedule for meeting rooms and ballrooms to keep rooms presentable.
• Due to hospitality business needs, work schedules may vary.
• Assist other departments as directed.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of various types of equipment and setup styles used in meeting rooms.
• A working knowledge of the hotel’s services, policies, and operations, typically learned on the job.
• Communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, co-workers, and guests.
• Moderate literacy to read and understand instructions on BEOS.
• Ability and willingness to learn AV system setup.
• Ability and willingness to lift and move multiple tables and chairs, including podiums weighing up to 80 lbs, through a crowded room with continuous physical activity throughout the shift for room setup and breakdown.
• Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand truck or truck with a maximum weight of 500 lbs.

Pay Details

• Starting pay: USD $13.00 per hour
• Compensation: $13.00/hour plus gratuity

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Set up experience preferred
