Job Description
The Dealer role at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Sioux City, IA (onsite) involves handling multiple table games on a rotating schedule, delivering prompt, accurate, and courteous service while upholding game integrity and clarifying rules as needed.
Responsibilities
- Rotate dealing across several table games based on training and demonstrated proficiency to meet demand, safeguard game integrity, and help colleagues build proficiency as directed by management.
- Provide fast, precise, and courteous service to players, applying high-level dealing technique while following established policies and procedures.
- Explain game elements to patrons upon request.
- Handle cash and maintain proper control and accounting for assigned property items.
- Stay informed about other gaming and entertainment/service activities to provide information and respond to patrons.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all Games department standards, policies, and procedures, including game-specific guidelines for the dealers.
- Learn additional games as directed by management.
- Represent the property at public events as directed by management.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail with thoroughness and solid organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated dealing proficiency with knowledge of Blackjack (minimum).
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Stand for extended periods, up to approximately 80 minutes at a time.
- Reach across a waist-high table to exchange cards and wagers with players.
- Deal cards using broad sweeping motions across the table.
- Finger dexterity for shuffling and dealing cards.
- May work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Noise level ranges from moderate to loud.
- Work environment may vary in crowd size, noise, and smoke depending on station and customer volume.
