Job Description

In Hobbs, New Mexico, the EVS team at Zia Park Casino Hotel Racetrack keeps gaming floors, guest areas, and facilities clean and inviting while supporting a positive guest experience. This onsite role combines meticulous cleaning with friendly service to uphold the property's standards and ensure customer satisfaction. The position offers an hourly wage of $14.

Responsibilities

  • Clean all slot machines, floors, windows, walls, stairs, and elevators.
  • Perform spot vacuuming as required.
  • Clean, disinfect, and restock all restrooms.
  • Mop floors around bars, restrooms, and other areas as needed.
  • Remove trash and debris from machines, empty and clean all ashtrays; dispose of waste in the outside dumpster.
  • Use cleaning chemicals and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Read, follow instructions, and understand visual aids.
  • Interact with guests and provide guest service according to company standards.
  • Demonstrate ethical and cooperative behavior with guests, coworkers, and leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by department or company management.
  • Adhere to all cleaning, sanitation, and PPE guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must qualify for licensing with the New Mexico Racing Commission.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Six months of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and promote cooperation between departments.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, bending, stretching, reaching, kneeling, squatting, and standing for long periods.
  • Work in confined areas and on floors that may be slippery.
  • Lifting 50 to 75 pounds to move materials, supplies, and equipment.

Work Environment

  • Most duties are performed indoors with exposure to airborne particles.
  • Noise levels may be loud in guest areas and there is exposure to unrestricted second-hand smoke.
