Job Description

The Bristol Hotel San Diego offers a supportive, results-focused leadership role for an onsite General Manager in San Diego, CA. This full-time position (in person) is designed for a leader who can balance day-to-day execution with long-term improvement, while driving guest satisfaction, team member satisfaction, and profitability.

Key responsibilities

The General Manager leads day-to-day operations at The Bristol Hotel San Diego, maintaining compliance with corporate and brand standards (if applicable). The role focuses on maximizing profitability while improving both guest satisfaction and team member satisfaction, supported by active oversight of budgets, forecasting, and performance review processes.

  • Manage day-to-day hotel operations in line with corporate standards and brand standards (if applicable)
  • Drive profitability while improving service levels and team member satisfaction
  • Ensure corporate policies and procedures and brand standards are implemented and followed
  • Review forecasts and balanced scorecard to monitor performance
  • Prepare, facilitate, and support hotel budgets and forecasts for corporate submission and approvals
  • Approve department budgets and define and direct changes as required
  • Oversee sales and marketing activity, results, and participation in sales and marketing strategy meetings
  • Participate in efforts to secure business and new business opportunities as needed
  • Communicate with hotel ownership and corporate teams, including procurement, accounting, and human resources, as required
  • Recruit, select, hire, supervise, train, coach, discipline, and complete performance evaluations for department heads and all department personnel in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws
  • Foster an accountable, success-oriented environment and develop the skills of direct reports
  • Provide ownership with results updates and align strategic plans for future hotel development

Requirements

  • Four-year (4) degree (preferred)
  • Minimum three to five (3-5) years of experience in a hotel, ideally in similarly-sized hotels (preferred)
  • Brand experience (preferred)
  • Skytouch experience
