Job Description

Royal Inn Hotel, located onsite in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, seeks an experienced Hotel General Manager to lead the property's operations and financial activities. The role emphasizes safeguarding the asset and shaping a culture that supports both associates and guests, with a yearly salary in the USD 70,000 to 80,000 range and direct, weekly reporting to ownership. This onsite leadership position oversees the guest experience and operational stability across the hotel.

Responsibilities

Foster a service-driven culture that places guests first and motivates associates to perform at their best.
Direct all hotel departments, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services, to ensure consistent standards and a smoothly run operation.
Monitor quality processes to achieve high customer satisfaction through consistent product quality and service delivery.
Conduct daily property walkthroughs to assess condition, cleanliness, cost control, and the overall quality of product and service.
Recruit, train, evaluate performance, resolve issues, maintain open communication, and apply disciplinary actions or termination when appropriate.
Engage in community activities and uphold a positive public image for the property.
Meet with prospective and existing clients to promote the hotel.
Play an active role in the sales and revenue management strategy to position the hotel competitively in the market.
Assist in formulating the hotel’s financial objectives.
Comply with Royal Inn Hotel policies and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
Maintain direct, transparent communication with ownership, delivering weekly reporting with solutions-oriented recommendations.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

A minimum of five years as a Hotel General Manager with experience across independent, boutique, or branded properties.
A proven record of improving hotel performance, including revenue generation, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR growth, and guest satisfaction reflected in online reviews.
Working knowledge of OTA distribution, online rate strategies, and reputation management.
Self-starter with the discipline and know-how to drive results without large brand resources.
Broad understanding of hotel operations, safety programs, HR practices and labor relations, financial literacy including budgeting, forecasting, P&L review and reporting, maintenance, and long-range planning.
Ability to stand and move throughout the property and perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging to associates, guests, owners, and community leaders.

At least 3 years of experience as an AGM or GM in a lifestyle hotel setting.

Track record of meeting budgets, understanding P&L statements, and implementing cost controls.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on leadership development for both leaders and hourly staff.
Weekend availability is required.
Union experience preferred, Marriott experience preferred.
Exempt managers typically direct the work of at least three full-time associates or their equivalents.
Primary duties involve administrative, executive, or professional tasks more than 50% of the time, with discretion and independent judgment required for more than half of the time.
