Job Description

Situated onsite in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Ameristar Casino Hotel Vicksburg offers a dynamic hospitality environment where guest experience is a priority. The Hotel Operations Manager leads day-to-day hotel operations, directs staff performance, and champions service excellence to optimize occupancy and revenue while upholding the property’s standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees day-to-day hotel operations and leads the hotel staff.
  • Sets, implements, and tracks operational goals while monitoring performance and profitability targets.
  • Develops efficient scheduling to control labor costs, meet staffing objectives, and maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Participates in the department budget process, offers recommendations, ensures adherence to budget initiatives, and reports concerns to the manager.
  • Champions superior customer service in line with departmental and company standards and programs.
  • Ensures service standards are followed by all team members and resolves issues as they arise.
  • Drives the overall achievement of departmental customer service goals.
  • Maintains master and direct-bill accounts and coordinates with Accounting to ensure accurate billing.
  • Recommends hotel policies and services, resolves guest complaints, and supports all customer service programs.
  • Aims to maximize occupancy and revenue for hotel operations.
  • Provides recommendations on financial activities such as setting room rates and related policies and procedures.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance within the area of authority and reports potential issues to Executive Management/GM.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality across departmental and company matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior hotel management experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and hotel software.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective presentation and ability to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Strong math skills, including ability to perform calculations and interpret bar graphs.
  • High energy with a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
  • Ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems diplomatically.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.

Salary

Salary: USD 46,915 per year, starting pay based on experience.
