Housekeeping Floor Supervisor

The Whitby Hotel is seeking a Housekeeping Floor Supervisor to oversee daily housekeeping operations on-site in New York, NY. This role leads the Housekeeping team to maintain exceptional cleaning standards across guest rooms and public areas, partnering closely with the Head Housekeeper and Deputy Head Housekeeper.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the cleaning activities of Room Attendants and Public Area Cleaner to the required hotel standard.
• Organize daily duties for Room Attendants and Porters and provide supervision to support maximum productivity.
• Handle guest complaints in a professional, prompt, and efficient manner.
• Complete day-to-day tasks as directed by the Head Housekeeper.
• Manage lost property promptly and efficiently in accordance with hotel procedure, ensuring items are properly logged.
• Log lost properties according to standard using the Go Concierge platform.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in corridors, stairways, and all public and working areas at all times.
• Assign special duties to Room Attendants, Public Area Cleaners, and Porters as needed.
• Control and supervise key and pager handling for Housekeeping staff on a daily basis.
• Ensure maintenance is reported promptly and accurately, with follow-up on actions taken by the responsible department.
• Ensure repairs to soft furnishings are addressed promptly and followed up.
• Complete all paperwork and records in line with departmental procedures.
• Monitor and update the computer system regarding room status.
• Report room deviations to relevant departments.
• Maintain a flexible schedule.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Floor Supervisor in a luxury hotel, preferably in NYC.
• Ability to mentor and inspire team members.
• Exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
• Friendly demeanor and professional presence.
• Excellent level of spoken and written English.
• Friendly and professional telephone etiquette.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Great communication skills.
• Computer literate with the ability to work with hotel systems.

USD 64,350 - 68,350 per year
