Job Description

Merete Hotel Management is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead cleaning operations and maintain consistently clean, orderly, and welcoming rooms onsite in Springfield, OR. This role includes supervising housekeeping and laundry staff, assigning duties, inspecting work, and supporting team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise housekeeping and laundry staff.
  • Assign duties and inspect work to ensure rooms and departmental areas meet hotel cleanliness objectives.
  • Apply the company handbook and employment and labor laws in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Follow predictive scheduling laws and regulations.
  • Monitor performance against plan and support ongoing department standards.
  • Maintain room quality in line with hotel objectives.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness levels in rooms, storage areas, laundry areas, restrooms, and public areas.
  • Support room cleaning activities including making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning rooms and bathrooms, cleaning halls, and vacuuming.
  • Unload and load housekeeping carts with supplies; replace cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Report problems and needed maintenance repairs promptly.
  • Attend mandatory meetings.
  • Report any unsafe conditions immediately and keep work areas neat and organized.
  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager with the development of the department’s annual budget.
  • Complete other assigned duties, including cross training.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Demonstrate respectful, positive, productive behavior that encourages teamwork.

Additional Duties

  • May purchase housekeeping supplies and equipment.
  • May take periodic inventories.
  • May train employees.

Required Qualifications

  • Lift and carry average weight of 20 lbs frequently, with maximum weight frequently at 50 lbs.
  • Standing and walking up to two miles per day on cement, tile, asphalt, and carpet.
  • Reaching and overhead extension to pull items down.
  • Pushing and pulling average weight 50 lbs frequently, with maximum weight at 150 lbs.
  • Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, stooping, and twisting.
  • Work with and be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, dust, and noise.
  • Adhere to hotel safety standards and procedures, including use of hearing, eye, and hand protection for equipment operation.
  • Effectively manage time.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Plan and organize the work of others.
  • Adjust to schedule changes and cover shifts on short notice.
  • Work a variety of hours and shifts.
  • Follow all appropriate policies and procedures while continually striving to improve operational standards.
  • Meet or exceed productivity standards set by the Manager.
  • Minimum six months of previous housekeeping experience.
  • May require a valid Driver License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, dust, and noise.
  • Requirement to follow hotel safety standards and procedures, including appropriate hearing, eye, and hand protection for equipment operation.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: USD 17 - 18 per hour.
