Job Description
The Night Auditor at 1 Hotel Austin, L.L.C. performs overnight front desk duties, overseeing night operations and completing day-end accounting and audit tasks to support guest safety, satisfaction, and accurate financial reporting.

Overview
This position blends front office oversight with accounting responsibilities during the night shift. The role focuses on balancing daily revenue, monitoring guest ledger activity, reconciling accounts receivable, and producing management reports to support smooth hotel operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct the nightly audit to balance daily revenue, monitor guest ledger activity, and reconcile accounts receivable.
- Confirm room charges, payments, postings, and adjustments to ensure daily financial transactions are accurate.
- Produce and distribute daily management and financial reports in line with hotel procedures.
- Carry out system backups, roll the business date, and update front desk systems per established guidelines.
- Reconcile miscellaneous revenue sources and investigate discrepancies, applying corrections as required.
- Oversee overnight front desk operations to maintain consistent guest service and compliance with brand standards.
- Greet and assist guests during overnight hours, addressing inquiries and requests with courtesy and professionalism.
- Maintain guest safety and security overnight, reporting any unusual activity or incidents to management or security as required.
- Maintain precise logs and documentation of overnight activities, incidents, and guest interactions.
- Communicate clearly with morning leadership and front office teams to ensure a smooth handover of duties.
- Work independently while staying responsive to guest needs and operational requirements throughout the shift.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures; report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete required safety training and certifications; store flammable materials properly.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies and standards for oneself and colleagues.
- Maintain a neat and professional uniform and personal appearance.
- Protect the confidentiality of proprietary information.

- Carry out other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Ability to work overnight shifts and stay alert throughout the shift.
- Prior experience in Front Office, Night Audit, or accounting is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a passion for numbers and accurate reconciliation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows applications; PMS experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
- Calm, professional demeanor with strong guest service skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as required.
- A university or college degree in Hospitality, Accounting, or a related field is an asset.
