What you’ll do

The Public Space Attendant maintains the cleanliness and overall appearance of tenant public areas at the hotel to uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The position may also support deep cleaning projects throughout the property as needed.

  • Clean and maintain bathrooms, public areas, and assigned spaces according to hotel standards.
  • Replenish supplies and perform cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing.
  • Inspect assigned areas for cleanliness, damage, and maintenance concerns, then report issues promptly.
  • Greet guests and respond courteously to guest requests and special requests.
  • Handle guest belongings and hotel property responsibly in line with company procedures.
  • Follow chemical handling, sanitation, safety, and infection-control procedures.
  • Support deep cleaning and special projects as assigned.
  • Communicate room status and maintenance needs to the appropriate hotel departments.
  • Support team productivity and quality standards to help maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Gather waste and/or contaminated materials for disposal.
  • Observe and maintain common areas including floor closets, stairwells, halls, lobby areas, and elevators.
  • Maintain the daily log, including completion of tasks, accounting for issued keys, and routine review of communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we need from you

  • Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and hotel cleanliness standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional, courteous guest-service skills.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Dependable and accountable with pride in cleanliness and presentation.
  • Guest-focused approach with courtesy and urgency when responding to requests.

Physical requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday.
  • Lift, carry, and maneuver housekeeping supplies and equipment.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work with cleaning chemicals and in varying temperatures as required.
