Job Description

Lakeside Hotel Casino in Osceola, IA is seeking a Slot Shift Supervisor to oversee Slot Attendants on the assigned shift, ensuring high levels of customer service and efficient slot operation in accordance with IRGC policies and SOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Slot Department Supervisor to maintain an efficient slot operation during the assigned shift.
  • Monitor employee activity and report findings to the Slot Department Supervisor as required.
  • Help train all new shift personnel to ensure they have the knowledge to perform duties competently.
  • Observe Slot Department activities to identify irregularities.
  • Verify that slot machines are operating correctly and that play is conducted legitimately.
  • Support staff with breaks to ensure adequate coverage and prompt guest service.
  • Track machine payouts to confirm guests receive appropriate amounts.
  • Serve as a signatory for jackpots per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Know and enforce policies protecting money, parts, equipment, and required documentation.
  • Use clear communication to provide consistent, accurate, and timely information across shifts.
  • Model professional behavior and appearance and ensure adherence to Slot Department standards, rules, and regulations.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service and maintain professional communication at all times.
  • Participate in other projects as assigned.
  • Enforce department uniform, appearance, and grooming standards.
  • Attend all required company training sessions.
  • Comply with Gaming Commission Rules and Regulations and all applicable local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Maintain eligibility for and hold a valid gaming license.
  • Follow safety protocols and meet company attendance requirements.
  • May work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Delegate tasks to ensure all shift functions are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Must be at least 18 years old to work on the gaming floor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission License.
  • Must be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
  • Proficient in English communication.
  • Basic arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across common units of measure.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • All employees must be familiar with company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to work on the gaming floor.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of Lead Slot Attendants and Slot Attendants.

Qualifications

  • Successful performance requires the ability to execute each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • All employees must understand and follow company policies and procedures, including fire and safety rules.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of leadership experience in slot operations is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must obtain and maintain an Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission License.

Skills

  • Effective English communication.
  • Basic math skills across whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer literacy.
