Steward

Loews Coral Gables Hotel is hiring a Steward to help keep kitchen and back-of-house spaces consistently clean, organized, and ready for service. This onsite role focuses on sanitation, dish and equipment readiness, and safe, compliant practices while supporting culinary, banquet, and outlet teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and glassware to maintain strong hygiene standards.
• Operate dishwashing machines and complete manual cleaning when needed to support efficiency and quality.
• Organize and store cleaned items in designated areas for easy access and smooth operations.
• Maintain spotless kitchen floors, walls, counters, and equipment to support a safe, sanitary work environment.
• Support culinary, banquet, and outlet teams by organizing equipment and supplies for seamless service.
• Deliver clean plates, utensils, and other essentials promptly to kitchen or service areas.
• Collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and food waste according to hotel standards, keeping waste areas clean.
• Sanitize trash bins and maintain cleanliness in waste management zones.
• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and restock as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
• Report broken or malfunctioning equipment promptly to the Executive Steward or Stewarding Supervisor.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and follow all established safety procedures.
• Follow health and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling practices.
• Adhere to hotel policies and procedures to ensure a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.
• Participate in regular safety training and team meetings to stay informed and prepared.
• Maintain regular attendance in conformance with standards.
• May be required to work varying schedules based on business needs, including mandatory training and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Previous experience in kitchen, cleaning, or hospitality-related work is preferred.
