Job Description

The Front Desk Supervisor role at Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail, Colorado (onsite) is a full-time, year-round leadership position dedicated to guiding the Front Desk and Guest Services team while delivering exceptional hospitality from arrival to departure.

Primary Purpose of Position

Oversee the Front Desk team and related operations during shifts, stepping in for the Front Office Managers as needed to maintain the highest standard of guest service and hospitality at all times.

Wage

$26.00 - $28.00 per hour

Schedule

Evening, holiday, and weekend work required, with potential total hours exceeding 40 per week.

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Stand and walk for the full length of the shift, up to 12 hours
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, and continuous standing
  • Ability to handle objects weighing up to 15 lbs routinely and lift up to 50 lbs on occasion

Responsibilities

  • Manage check-in and check-out procedures in alignment with LHW standards
  • Lead training for all new front desk agents
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Front Office procedures and property management system operations
  • Support other Front Office areas as needed, including Concierge, Bell Staff, Valet, and Ski Valet
  • Address guest concerns to the highest level in the absence of the DFO/FOM; document issues in HotSOS and ensure resolutions
  • Supervise Front Desk staff to ensure adherence to policies and procedures
  • Oversee front desk payroll budgeting and scheduling
  • Set goals for front desk staff and provide ongoing feedback, including 30-day, seasonal, and annual performance reviews
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new staff in cooperation with the DFO/FOM

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Hospitality degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year in Front Office supervision
  • Minimum of 1 year in Front Office training
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Prior experience with HMS or similar lodging software preferred
  • Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office, and web-based systems
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in high-pressure situations; self-motivated and proactive
