Hotel Front Office Supervisor
Job Description
The Front Office Supervisor at Beach House Hotel provides day-to-day oversight of the Front Office team and helps ensure guests receive professional service aligned with hotel policies and procedures. This onsite role in Hermosa Beach, CA includes leading check-in and payment processes, handling guest service requests, and completing daily reporting.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Front Office Manager, this full-time, non-management position supervises Front Desk, Valet, and Security staff. The supervisor supports a smooth arrival experience by managing identity verification, payment handling, room key issuance, guest accounts, and follow-up on service needs. The role also serves as a first point of contact in support of the Guarantee of Fair Treatment and Open Door Policy process.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all Front Office staff, including Front Desk, Valet, and Security, and ensure guests are treated professionally according to Beach House policies and procedures.
- Process guest check-ins by verifying guest identity, confirming form of payment, assigning rooms, and activating or issuing room keys.
- Set up accurate guest accounts based on guest requirements and ensure rates match market codes, documenting any exceptions.
- Secure payment prior to issuing room keys, verify or adjust billing, and process all payment types, charges, and related transactions.
- Compile and review daily reports, logs, and contingency lists; complete cashier and closing reports.
- Provide guests with directions and property information; accommodate guest requests by contacting appropriate staff as needed and follow up to ensure requests are completed.
- Balance and drop receipts, and count and secure the bank at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Assist management with training, evaluating, counseling, motivating, and coaching employees; maintain positive working relationships and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
- Follow company policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions, and complete safety training and required certifications; maintain clean and professional personal appearance and protect company assets and confidential proprietary information.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
- Use clear, professional communication; prepare and review written documents accurately; answer telephones using proper etiquette.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards; enter and locate information using Autoclerk, Shift 4, and Outlook.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by managers.

- Night Shift (Required)
- Flexible shifts available on Weekdays, Weekends, and Holidays, primarily PM shift (2:30pm to 11pm)
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least 1 year of Front Desk Supervisory experience
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- Previous hotel front desk experience
- Proficiency with technology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Language: English (Preferred)
- Day Shift experience: Preferred
