Line Cook (AM Shift)

Cambria Hotel Lake Placid is hiring an AM Line Cook to help deliver dependable, high-quality meals for guests in a busy, fast-paced kitchen. What you’ll do

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes by following standardized recipes, guidelines, and portion expectations for consistent taste and presentation.
• Assist with execution of the hotel menu across appetizers, entrees, and desserts, using seasonal ingredients to keep offerings fresh and diverse.
• Ensure every plate meets quality standards before leaving the kitchen, including proper plating and adherence to portion sizes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment while following food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Adhere to HACCP principles to reduce risk of foodborne illness and prevent cross-contamination.
• Support the team with kitchen operations including food prep, inventory management, and maintaining kitchen equipment.
• Communicate clearly with kitchen teammates, servers, and other staff to support smooth service and efficient operations.
• Manage time effectively to meet guest orders promptly while protecting food quality.
• Contribute to menu development by suggesting new dishes and modifications informed by guest feedback and culinary trends.
• Be available to work in different kitchen sections as business needs require.
• Assist with training new kitchen staff and mentor less experienced cooks to strengthen team performance.

What you bring

• Culinary degree or relevant certification from a culinary school (preferred).
• Proven experience as a Line Cook in a hotel or similar high-volume environment.
• Strong cooking skills and knowledge of multiple cooking techniques.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Valid food handling certificate is a plus.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while staying detail-focused and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach with the team.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
