Job Description

At the Sheraton Duluth Hotel in Duluth, Minnesota, the Night Auditor oversees the overnight operations, verifies guest charges, and balances revenues while delivering courteous service to guests and colleagues during the night shift. This part-time role covers two consecutive overnight shifts within a Friday through Wednesday window, ensuring accounting accuracy and seamless operation as the day ends.

Compensation

  • Hourly rate: USD 18 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Register guests, confirming reservations, addresses, email addresses, and credit information
  • Utilize kiosk systems proficiently to assist guests when needed
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally
  • Respond to guest complaints, issues, and requests in a friendly, professional manner
  • Ensure matters are resolved or routed to the appropriate department head
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of hotel facilities and the local area
  • Process payments for guest accounts at check-in and checkout
  • Handle all retail transactions for guests
  • Issue and check luggage claims when requested
  • Oversee nightly hotel operations
  • Verify that revenue from all sources is balanced and follow up on discrepancies
  • Post transactions as needed and perform end-of-day procedures
  • Produce daily department reports and compile statistical data for transfer to Accounting
  • Investigate service and safety issues reported during the shift, document findings, and coordinate with guests for timely resolution
  • Learn and follow fire and emergency procedures, including operation of the fire panel, ensuring guest safety and participating in evacuations if necessary
  • Perform duties of a Guest Services Agent as required
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Experience: One to two years of general hospitality experience strongly preferred in front office or accounting
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-language environment
  • Organization: Capacity to plan ahead and manage workloads efficiently
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in an innovative, fast-paced, multi-tasking setting
  • Technical: Basic accounting concepts; proficient with Microsoft Office and internet
  • Knowledge: In-depth familiarity with the hotel, its services, and facilities
  • Special requirements: If applicable, valid driver's license, reliable vehicle with insurance, and a safe driving record

  • Hours: Office hours may vary to meet the hotel's needs

Additional Screening
