Night Auditor I
Job Description
Overnight front desk role focused on guest service, accurate transactions, and safety-first operations.
Responsibilities
- Handle night check-in and check-out, including issuing room keys and providing directions and hotel service information.
- Collect required identification at check-in in accordance with local legislative requirements.
- Answer phones promptly and courteously; respond to, record, and process guest calls, messages, requests, questions, and concerns.
- Record and maintain guest preferences in the system.
- Upsell rooms when possible to support hotel revenue.
- Process all cash and credit card transactions accurately using established procedures.
- Resolve late or disputed charges during guest departure.
- Issue, control, and release guest safe-deposit boxes in line with hotel procedures.
- Communicate outstanding guest requests or issues to management for additional monitoring or follow-up.
- Take appropriate action to resolve guest problems and complaints using established service recovery guidelines.
- Follow hotel safety protocols at all times; immediately report health and safety incidents, security breaches, concerns, or suspicious behavior to the supervisor or manager on duty.
- Book reservations for individuals and/or groups upon request (phone or in-hotel), and process cancellations, revisions, and information updates for changes.
- Work with other departments and communicate per hotel procedures to maintain service quality.
- Complete additional duties as assigned, including guest room tours, concierge services, and special guest requests.
- Perform bell person duties as requested, including parking and pulling vehicles for valet.
Requirements
- High School diploma / Secondary qualification or equivalent.
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards.

Physical and Technical Ability
- Frequently stand behind the desk and front office areas.
- Carry or lift items up to 50 pounds / 23 kilograms.
- Handle objects, products, and computer equipment.
- Use basic computer skills to operate various property management and reservations systems.
- Perform bell person responsibilities, including parking and retrieval of guest vehicles for valet operations during overnight hours.
