Job Description
Support kitchen and restaurant operations by cleaning, sanitizing, stocking, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Clean assigned equipment, sinks, refrigerators/freezers, service areas, walls, floors, and Kitchen/Cafeteria/Dumpster/Compactor areas in line with sanitation requirements
- Stock kitchen lines, restaurant service areas, and the buffet line using designated cleaned wares, utensils, and equipment; handle items carefully to prevent breakage
- Transport garbage containers and compactors from kitchen and work areas to dumpsters
- Follow all department policies, procedures, and standards; maintain complete knowledge and compliance
- Use correct maintenance and proper equipment use based on department expectations
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in assigned work areas throughout each shift
- Check equipment and machinery working conditions according to specifications
- Inspect cleanliness and condition of washed equipment and areas; re-clean items that do not meet standards
- Store cleaned equipment in designated areas
- Maintain cleanliness and working condition of garbage disposal and grease traps
- Use designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment to clean various floor surfaces
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of supply and storage closets: remove trash, wipe shelves and counters, clean floors, and place items in correct locations
- Report damages, maintenance issues, and safety hazards to the supervisor
- Adhere to required health department, sanitization, and safety regulations
- Organize and restock work areas for the next shift
Requirements
- Ability to use chemicals and equipment; no skin sensitivities
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and guidelines
- Ability to read and write basic instructions
- Strong attention to detail
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Zero (0) to six (6) months foodservice experience
- Willingness and ability to be flexible with the work schedule; extended hours and longer weeks may be required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license as determined by the Maryland State Lottery and Gaming Commission
- Ability to work long hours
- Ability to stand for long periods without sitting or leaning
- Physical ability to handle up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 30 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
- Ability to climb, bend, stretch, twist, or reach; work under variable temperatures and noise levels
