Steward

This role supports hotel kitchen operations by running dishwashing equipment, maintaining clean and sanitary work areas, and handling routine stewardship tasks across kitchen and banquet settings. The position is based onsite in Winthrop, WA.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the dishwasher to ensure dishes and cooking utensils from kitchens, restaurants, and banquets are properly cleaned.
• Scrub pots and perform regular washing of dishes and cooking utensils.
• Restock supplies in assigned areas, including clean glasses, silverware, and plates.
• Complete general kitchen cleaning duties, including cleaning and mopping kitchen floors and trash removal.
• Put away food stock and dry goods in the correct locations while rotating inventory using first in, first out practices.
• Remove trash from all containers and take it to the dumpster located on the loading dock.
• Perform general and routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to support compliance with health standards.
• Maintain clean work areas to support health department compliance.
• Handle other assigned tasks, including cleanup of unexpected spills and executing special requests as needed.
• Due to the hospitality industry, work schedules may vary to reflect business needs.

Requirements

• Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards.
• Knowledge of operating a dishwasher, floor stripper, and buffer.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to read labels for proper placement of food and dry goods and to communicate with other team members.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to load and unload the dishwasher and handle kitchen equipment, knives, slicing blades, and related tools.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Some work experience in a related field preferred; some hospitality experience preferred.

Compensation

Pay rate: USD 17 per hour.
