Banquet Server

Hotel Hartness in Greenville, SC is hiring a Banquet Server for onsite service in a fast-paced dining and event setting. The role focuses on delivering attentive guest service while supporting banquet operations, maintaining cleanliness, and following food safety expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests in a friendly manner, providing consistent customer service throughout their dining experience.
• Take accurate food and drink orders using POS systems (if applicable).
• Upsell menu items and promote daily specials to support guest satisfaction and increase sales.
• Deliver food and beverages to tables promptly while maintaining proper presentation standards.
• Support service by assisting with food preparation tasks, bussing tables, and maintaining dining area cleanliness according to sanitation guidelines.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and providing change as needed.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to help ensure efficient service and address guest concerns or special requests.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to provide informed recommendations to guests.
• Uphold food safety standards and comply with applicable health regulations throughout the service process.
• Complete cleaning and setup duties prior to, during, and after service.
• Perform duties in a mixed indoor and outdoor setting.
• Set event function areas according to BEO, including moving tables, chairs, AV equipment, china, glassware, silverware, decorations, and other event items as required.

Requirements

• Previous restaurant or food service experience is preferred, especially in fine dining or nightclub environments.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting.
• Excellent customer service skills focused on guest relations and satisfaction.
• Basic math skills for accurate and efficient transaction handling.
• Culinary experience or knowledge of food handling practices is a plus.
