F&B Food Runner
Job Description
The F&B Food Runner at Hotel Clark in Los Angeles supports the food and beverage team by delivering orders accurately and promptly to guests across the hotel’s dining outlets. The role also helps maintain clean, organized service areas while adhering to established food safety and sanitation procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver food and beverage orders promptly, safely, and in the correct sequence to the assigned table or service position
- Verify each order against the ticket for accuracy, completeness, temperature, and presentation before leaving the kitchen
- Greet and acknowledge guests warmly upon delivery and respond to immediate needs or requests
- Communicate guest requests, allergies, and special instructions to the server or manager promptly
- Follow company service standards, safety procedures, and sanitation guidelines
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, allergens, plate presentation, and beverage offerings
- Coordinate with the kitchen, bar, and service teams to support accurate and timely order delivery
- Monitor the expo line and service flow to keep tickets moving and reduce delays
- Clear, wipe, and reset tables promptly; assist with bussing, seating, restocking service areas, or other outlet needs as assigned
- Perform related duties in line with safe workload expectations and applicable law
- Carry trays, plates, and beverages safely and steadily through dining and service areas
- Handle hot plates, hot beverages, and glassware using proper equipment and techniques
- Maintain required food temperatures and follow time and temperature control procedures during transport
- Report spills, breakage, and safety hazards immediately and assist with safe cleanup
- Maintain cleanliness in guest-facing service areas, including tables, stations, and assigned work areas
- Ensure flatware, glassware, plates, menus, trays, and service items are clean, polished, organized, and properly stocked
- Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties for assigned outlet service
- Support public-facing service-area cleanliness as assigned
- Follow sanitation, safety, and chemical-handling procedures
- Maintain knowledge of property amenities and on-site dining options
- Answer guest questions about menu offerings and direct more detailed requests to the server or manager
- Support a seamless, hospitable guest experience through attentive, team-first service
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Working knowledge of menu items, plate presentation, and food handling standards
- Excellent communication skills for guest interaction and team coordination
- Positive, friendly, and professional demeanor
- Ability to deliver prompt, accurate, and hospitable service
- Ability to carry loaded trays and multiple plates safely and steadily
- Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards
- Familiarity with property amenities and dining outlets
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tickets, and work efficiently in a fast-paced service environment
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as scheduled; overtime handled according to hotel policy and applicable law
- Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and workplace standards
Certifications
- California Food Handler Card required within 30 days of hire
- Responsible Beverage Service certification required within 60 days of hire for employees who serve alcoholic beverages
- Additional certifications may be required based on assigned outlet, job duties, or applicable law
Physical Requirements
- Constant standing, walking, and balancing throughout shift
- Frequent to constant bending, reaching, and use of manual and gross motor skills
- Occasional to frequent crouching, pushing/pulling, and eye-hand coordination
- Frequent to constant carrying and lifting of trays and plates up to 25 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to safely carry loaded trays and multiple plates through crowded service areas
Work Schedule
- Full-time and part-time positions may be available
- Shifts, days, hours, and schedules vary based on business needs, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Location
Los Angeles, CA (onsite).
Compensation
USD 25 per hour. The posted pay range reflects the actual compensation for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. For roles with a fixed rate of pay, the posted range represents the advertised rate for the position.

Experience
- Food runner, busser, food and beverage, hotel, restaurant, or guest service experience preferred
- Equivalent hospitality experience may be considered
