Job Description
The Front Desk Agent position at the Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles Hotel serves as the front-line ambassador, handling guest reception and front office operations to ensure a smooth, welcoming experience for guests, visitors, and colleagues.
Overview
This role centers on managing check-in and check-out duties while coordinating with various hotel departments to sustain efficient front desk operations. A proactive communication style and professional presence help uphold the Sheraton brand standards and deliver guest-focused service.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests in a friendly, prompt, and professional manner.
- Spend approximately 80 percent of the shift on the lobby level to engage with guests and assist in person.
- Provide warm, knowledgeable assistance to guests to facilitate a smooth and memorable stay.
- Assist the concierge and bell staff with duties such as dinner reservations, transportation help, gift recommendations, and hotel referrals.
- Check guests in, issue room keys, explain hotel services and room locations, and answer phones promptly and courteously.
- Promote room upgrades when appropriate to support revenue goals.
- Process cash and credit card transactions accurately according to procedures, including posting charges, completing cashier and reports, preparing deposits, and securing the cash drawer.
- Manage guest safe-deposit boxes, including issuing, controlling, and releasing access.
- Communicate outstanding guest requests or issues to management for monitoring or follow-up.
- Address guest complaints promptly and implement appropriate service recovery measures to ensure satisfaction.
- Foster teamwork and high-quality service through daily coordination with other departments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to deliver genuine hospitality and maintain Sheraton Brand standards.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills with a solid knowledge of the Los Angeles area and a customer-focused approach.
- Experience in hotel or resort front desk operations.
- Customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in additional languages is preferred.

Pay
From $21.44 per hour.
Work Location
Location: Los Angeles, CA (onsite). This is an in-person role.
