Job Description

EQX Hotel Management LLC is seeking an In Room Dining Team Member to support guest satisfaction at Hudson Yards, New York. This onsite role focuses on delivering in-room dining and minibar service while maintaining cleanliness, accurate ordering, and properly stocked room offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Treat guests with courtesy and respect in a variety of situations.
  • Follow hotel Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Prepare the food and beverage outlet for service.
  • Ensure tables and trays are clean and set according to established standards.
  • Stock required supplies and condiments, keeping items properly stocked and organized.
  • Complete assigned sidework as required.
  • Prepare and maintain guest room minibars based on daily assignment and hotel standards, including:
    • Keeping the minibar clean and organized.
    • Replenishing inventory to 100% capacity.
    • Reporting damages or repairs needed to the manager.
    • Preparing a guest room usage report so guests are accurately billed for minibar purchases.
    • Ensuring minibar service carts are properly stocked according to established inventory procedures.
    • Conducting routine inventory checks and validating expiration dates to help ensure product freshness.
    • Assisting with retrieving and storing minibar inventory from the storeroom.
    • Maintaining and storing equipment used during the shift.
  • Maintain full knowledge of menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods.
  • Maintain full knowledge of beverages and promotions.
  • Assist guests with orders by providing accurate and informative guidance, and place orders following established procedures.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Comply with Work Rules, Safety Standards, and Standards of Conduct outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned at the discretion of management.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Satisfactory communication in English with guests, co-workers, and management.
  • Ability to perform duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, and cooperativeness with minimal supervision.
  • Punctuality and regular, reliable attendance.
  • Professional attitude and appropriate workplace verbiage.
  • Comfort speaking with guests and anticipating guest needs.
  • “Can Do, positive, Have Fun” attitude.
  • Hospitality service experience is a plus (not preferred).
  • Knowledge in POS systems is a plus (not preferred).
  • Flexible scheduling ability for AM, PM, Overnight, Weekends & Holidays.
  • High School graduate or equivalent vocational training.
  • Guest Services experience is desirable.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry as needed.
  • Must be able to see the physical condition of designated areas.
  • Must be able to read and write orders and use a point of sale system.
  • Ability to work with cleaning agent for 15% of the shift; gloves may be worn when cleaning.
  • Ability for one-on-one communication with guests, managers, and fellow employees.
  • Must be able to read and generate reports, guest correspondence, and computer screens.

Essential Physical Abilities

  • Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying: 50% of the shift lifting trays and moving various carts, dollies, or trash cans.
  • Bending/Kneeling: 25% of the shift to reach items stored in cabinets and minibars.
  • Climbing: 5% of the shift using stairs and ladders.
  • Mobility: 100% of the shift walking several hundred feet at a time, standing, bending, or kneeling periodically.
  • Continuous Standing: standing while waiting for guest arrival and while taking orders.

Compensation

USD 19 - 26 per hour

Education

High School graduate or equivalent vocational training
