Job Description
The Sales Manager role at Kaimana Beach Hotel focuses on soliciting and managing accounts within defined market segments, pursuing new business to drive revenue, and delivering timely month-end reporting on account production.
Overview
The Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting and maintaining familiarity with all accounts in specified market segments. The role also encompasses prospecting and closing on assigned accounts or territory to positively impact hotel revenue, along with month-end reporting and tracking for account production.
Responsibilities
- Understand and apply all Highgate Hotel sales policies and selling techniques, emphasizing occupancy and Average Daily Rate (ADR).
- Conduct professional site inspections with clients, highlighting key features and benefits of the property.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services and Reservations.
- Aquire thorough knowledge of the company’s sales policies and SOPs, and ensure adherence by the sales team.
- Create and execute plans for outside sales calls, industry trade shows, and customer events.
- Meet or exceed established targets.
- Research and generate new leads through database research and proactive outreach, maximizing new room revenue and surpassing lead-generation goals.
- Attend the daily Group RevMAX meeting and weekly sales meetings as required.
- Manage the Sales Department within the approved sales expense budget.
- Provide office coverage as scheduled.
- Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program.
- Monitor top account production and analyze market trends.
- Maintain regular contact with existing accounts according to the tracing frequencies for each account.
- Invite clients to the hotel for entertainment, tours and site inspections.
- Assist in implementing direct sales promotions such as parties and sales blitzes.
- Assist in preparing required reports in a timely manner.
- Utilize the property's computerized sales management system to manage the hotel’s business, including generating reports, entering business, blocking space and building accounts.
- Adhere to Prime Selling Time (PST).
- Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events.
- Manage and negotiate sales transactions to ensure smooth and successful closings.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of progressive hotel sales experience.
- Valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
- Proficiency in Windows, and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing.
