Job Description
In College Station, the Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center provides a dynamic setting for a part-time Server role with Pyramid Hotel Group. The position emphasizes courteous table service, accurate order taking, and ensuring guests have a smooth dining experience. Compensation for this role is listed as USD 5 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests as they are seated; verify the table is clean and fully stocked with utensils, napkins, and needed items.
- Distribute menus and present the daily specials to guests.
- Answer questions about the menu and offerings.
- Take food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen for preparation.
- Deliver food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to the table.
- Ensure that dishes are prepared correctly and to guests' satisfaction; return any incorrect or undercooked items to the kitchen.
- Clear plates and reset the table as guests finish their meals.
- Prepare guest checks and process payments.
- Assist with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and organizing silverware and condiments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Well-organized with the ability to accurately take and place food and beverage orders.
- Ability to operate point-of-sale systems.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous experience as a server preferred.
- Must obtain the Texas food handling certification and TABC certification.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays weighing up to 25 pounds.
