Responsibilities
- Review server and house person BEOs to confirm all details are correct.
- Prepare rooms, buffets, and tables per BEO specifications and supervisor guidance; verify electrical hook-ups work and secure all exposed cords. Handle guest interactions in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner while upholding high standards.
- Keep storerooms clean, organized, and secure; assist with equipment inventory as scheduled; participate in regular staff setup and technical training.
- Arrange the banquet hall to promote a productive, safe, and energy-conscious work environment; maintain equipment through cleaning and repairs as needed.
- Set any unused rooms to the department’s standards.
- Communicate concerns to the Banquet Manager in a timely manner.
- Assist servers during service by addressing requests and notifying a supervisor promptly of any issues.
- Maintain a cooperative, team-oriented attitude with supervisors and colleagues across departments.
- Enforce safety and sanitation procedures, including safety guidelines and OSHA requirements.
Requirements
- Education: High school education or equivalent experience.
- Experience: At least six months in a hotel or convention center banquet food and beverage services environment; knowledge of banquet operations, convention services setup, and familiarity with AV equipment operations preferred.
- Language: Able to read, speak, and understand English.
- Physical: Able to lift and carry 20 to 40 pounds; stand continuously for extended periods.
- Communication: Able to convey information about hotel services to management, staff, and guests.
