At The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa in Denver, Colorado, the Banquet Manager leads the orchestration of all banquet events, balancing profitability with outstanding guest service. This role works closely with food and beverage leadership, oversees banquet staff, and ensures budgets and guest satisfaction stay on track throughout the hotel’s events program.
Overview
The Banquet Manager is accountable for the success of every banquet function while upholding a profitable operation and high-quality service. The position collaborates with other F&B managers, oversees banquet personnel, and aims to maintain revenue and payroll targets in line with the property’s standards. Applications will be accepted from July 16, 2026 through July 22, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a consistently attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous approach to guests, managers, and teammates.
- Direct all day-to-day activities of the hotel’s banquet operations.
- Supervise banquet staff and coordinate with other F&B managers on issues as they arise.
- Address guest complaints promptly to sustain high guest satisfaction.
- Keep the immediate supervisor informed of issues requiring attention.
- Coordinate and monitor all Loss Prevention aspects within the banquet operation.
- Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner, including wage progress, payroll, revenue, employee schedules, and quarterly action plans.
- Monitor service quality in banquet operations and ensure compliance with local liquor laws, health and sanitation regulations, and SOPs across outlets.
- Ensure requisition procedures are followed and conduct staff performance reviews per hotel standards.
- Understand payroll and tip distribution processes and participate in departmental and hotel training programs.
- Coordinate banquet-related food and beverage needs with appropriate departments and keep the kitchen informed of accurate guest counts for plating.
- Review menu and service details with catering managers and the banquet chef; maintain current function information and communicate to supervisors.
- Provide ongoing training for captains and hourly staff to maintain service standards and engage with guests.
- Make personal contact with guests to assist with requests and supervise accurate tabulation of banquet checks.
- Requisition liquor for banquet bars and ensure the safety, sanitation, and cleanliness of service areas.
- Oversee banquet set-up assignments and inspect banquet areas regularly for cleanliness and maintenance.
- Conduct menu classes and function line-ups; supervise banquet management, captains, and hourly staff.
- Manage service equipment and submit service requests as needed; strive for overall guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field; supervisory experience preferred.
- High school diploma is required.
- Strong knowledge of service standards and various service types (French, Russian, etc.), plus familiarity with food and beverage preparation techniques, health regulations, and liquor laws.
- Ability to work long hours and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, or up to 20 pounds frequently or constantly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of effective interaction with all staff and guests in a courteous, service-oriented manner.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities; able to handle problems proactively and maintain confidentiality when required.
- Willingness to attend required meetings and trainings; participation in MOD coverage as needed; maintain regular attendance per hotel standards.
- Professional appearance with nametag and a warm, approachable demeanor at all times.
- Ability to analyze complex information from multiple sources to meet objectives and implement solutions; perform other duties as assigned by management.

Compensation
Salary: USD 60,000 - 65,000 per year.
